| Rice dish in pot Tastes better than it looks. Missing some ingredients because we ate them. |
Hooooney look what I made.
After a taste test spouse told me it was delicious. Unfortunately, we ate and washed the dishes before i remembered to take a picture.
How do you take a picture of the dish in the pot?
Point and shoot.
It doesn't come out right.
Then plate it.
Then I have to wash another dish and do we have any fresh herbs to sprinkle some decoration on top?
Did you buy any?
No
Then, no.
But then I can't do the BOOMBA!!!
The what?
Boomba. Emeril has BAAAM!!! when he throws food into a pot, I say booomba.
No exclamation marks?
!!!
This is my first food image. (Came out pale). I've joined the food blogging crowd. If anyone wants the recipe for Boomba rice, beans and accompanying Kale, sauce, (garlic) tofu curry with almond slices and fetch(Feta) let me know I'll add it.
There is neither sauce nor fetch. Autocorrect has dementia.

More boomba (and food blogging), please.
ReplyDeleteCodex: Really?
DeleteGood to have you back.
Always interested in new recipes but to be honest I probably wouldn't make this.
ReplyDeleteCodex: I added too much water so we had to scoop the food out. Contains all the nutrients and anti carcinogens and is quite good. Unless you don't like rice and beans?
DeleteI like rice and beans and eat plenty. It just didn't look or sound very appealing.
DeleteCodex : I'll put it up if you want the Kale is a Nepalese dish. Not doing food pics again. Lol. You should have seen the other pics. WTH?
DeleteFood is always notoriously hard to photograph, as any professional food stylist will tell you! (I used to hear about this working in newspapers.)
ReplyDeleteCodex: This is the fifth Pic. The others looked gross and I still had to warm it up rather than increase the reds. Why is that? The camera is pretty decent with buildings.
DeleteZoom in, zoom out, turn the pot for different angles, notice where the light hits it, basically just keep trying. Mostly things look better plated.
ReplyDeleteCodex: Thank you river. Basically like setting up for a still life painting? Always assu.ed that people just took quick food pics. Spouse hates it. Shoot from above or at an angle?
DeleteTry everything and see what works for different foods in different pots and differing serving dishes. Plates, bowls, platters etc.
DeleteCodex: Spouse will love that. :)
DeleteThank you. I'll experiment before giving up. My camera isn't the best with color.
