Synchronicity is a term that sometimes describes spiritual confluence of events. What has been happening through digititalu (is confluent human/ai spelling), digitalization is synchronized marketing and advertising.
If it makes my life easier and I can find some interesting trends or products, I don't mind, but potential consumers of news, ideologies and products are targeted as follows
1. I had to get something done, the appointment was late so I decided to wait outside and grab a coffee. I explained to the security guard that I might be in and out. Nice guy, Kevin, mentioned that the Yacuza were a big problem.
Sigh.
Do you have experience with them I asked
No, but there was a documentary on them he explained.
There was also something in the media and when I searched the heavily marketed Yacuza video game was coming out.
2. When I went to look for specific items in a grocery store for my father, I asked for assistance since I could not find them. A lovely customer service person (let's call her Daisy) kept offering me replacement products until I explained that he was very specific and couldn't open certain packages.
Daisy offered prayers, was very religious told me that the darkness was coming because of the eclipse and did I know that all of this were portents of the devil...
Sigh. Get me off this planet.
I knew that at least one war was coming. There was also a movie called darkness on witchcraft streaming, and everything else that we're now in.
It doesn't matter whether it's the news, a new movement or marketing, SEOs ensure that we read something about what is being pushed on us through word repetition across platforms. Out of ignorance about science (eclipses happen all the time) and world events, this is what some people cobble together for themselves.
Both of these conversations happened a few years ago, they're repeating themselves. We were just told that everyone else is going to hell and a new Jacuza game is coming out. (Don't care about the latter, but let's wait and see why Japan may become relevant).
Anyone else noticed certain patterns?
Cobble...assembled yet disassembled...it's an apt choice for what you're shining a light on in this post (insert fist bump here).
ReplyDeleteP.S. So glad you're blogging again.
Codex: Thank you for your encouragement. *fist bump* back. The problem is these people really believe it.
