The pebble cat

This is a Pebble cat. (Lapillus felis catus) It's ancestry can be traced back to the pet rock. If you pet it it will purr, it can also bark for preferred communication. It's fur is soft and silky. The satire has been removed, this is a real pet that will be with you forever.

This is the future we are heading into where marketing and advertising will convince people to accept any claim from health care to cutlery.

My recycled bamboo fork is now a spoon that broke in half. The break in half pill required a chainsaw and flew off somewhere, my beverage tastes like the cardboard straw it came with and my personal AI tried to replace Felis with Melissa.

The future is stupid. Now let me sell you a watch that can measure your mood.

  1. Or a mood ring! I seem to remember those from 50 years ago. Maybe stupidity has always been with us.

    1. Codex: @Steve. The only people I knew that believed the mood ring where descendants of hippies, the rest of us tried to figure out how it worked and thought it was a cool gimmick.good example though. The more recent one are gem stone bracelets with special powers or the copper bracelet to change your EM field. All harmless. But a smartwatch to measure BPressure is dangerous because it's inaccurate.

  2. Steve beat me to the mood ring. Never had one or a pet rock or any number of gimmicky things people waste their money on and I'm not getting a smart watch either. I don't need to be bossed around by a watch.

    1. Codex: my color changing toy was fun though. Saw that they make mermaid barbies that do too.

  3. Well, I've got to confess I've fallen for a few gimmicks in my time. But some of them are so outrageous that it really does become comical that anyone would buy them. There is a sucker born every minute tho'.
